Game Summary

The Generals faced a tough packed in defense and could not figure out how to beat Olentangy Orange's strategy effectively. The Pioneers scored on their first shot of the game when Pedicore scored off a Pennington assist at 2:32 in what looked like a dump in shot that fooled Goalie Chloe Spencer. Andrew Price then scored from the point from a Chris Watkins pass to tie the game midway through the 1st period. Orange then scored back-to-back second period goals by Faroughi and Pennington to take a 3 to 1 lead. The Generals continued to fire shot after shot which were turned away by the Pioneer defense. Only 29 of 55 shot attempts found their way to the Pioneer's Goal Tender Victor. Finally, just 1:04 into the 3rd period Zach Ulrich took a Kevin Hoyle pass and banked it home off the right side post to pull AW within one. But that was all for the Generals who carried the play to the Pioneers in the third period to no avail.
