Seniors Participate in All Star Game
Zach Ulrich, Chris Watkins, and Trevor Pieh participated in the 2011 season ending Senior All Star game at Tam-O-Shanter. Chris Watkins lit the lamp for Team Black with a nifty back hander, while Zach Ulrich scored numerous times for Team White. NWHC White Division players figured prominently in the game, showing off the depth of talent in our division.

Overall Record: 22-8-1-1
In only their second season in the White division, the Generals won their season ending divisional tournament, while finishing second in their conference.

Generals' Hockey will have a new home in 2010-2011
The Anthony Wayne Generals will have a new home ice rink starting with the 2010-2011 season. The Bowling Green State University Ice Arena will be the site of the Generals' practices, non-league home games, and the AW Classic tournament held over the Martin Luther King holiday weekend in January.

Junior Varsity Head Coach Selected:
Troy Boze
Troy started playing hockey when he was 3 in the SMAHL organization. During his high school freshman and sophomore years he played for Whitmer High School. He then moved on to the Toledo Cherokee of the CSHL. The following year he played for the Michigan Ice Dogs, also in the CSHL. Post graduation he played one season for the University of Toledo.
Troy has been a USA Hockey official for 11 years. In addition he has refereed at the high school and college levels for the last 4 years. His coaching experience has spanned all levels of hockey from mini mites to high school. Please join me in welcoming Troy to Anthony Wayne Hockey.

Chris Mathews continues his association with Anthony Wayne Hockey by being selected as Assistant Coach for the Varsity team. Chris's previous assignment was as Junior Varsity Head Coach.

New Head Coach Selected:
Derek Helmke
Derek has been coaching hockey since 1997, including seven seasons as an assistant with Ottawa Hills HS varsity, one season with Central Catholic JV and multiple seasons within SMAHL at both the travel and house levels . Additionally, Derek is active in the USA Hockey Player Development Program at both the Mid-Am District and National levels. As a player Derek graduated from Sylvania Northview earning four varsity hockey letters. After graduation Derek was drafted to the CSHL by the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks where he spent two seasons being named team captain in the second. In addition to hockey Derek enjoys working with the Gliding Stars adaptive ice skating program, where he has spent the past two seasons helping individuals with special needs learn to skate.
